As part of our Employee Excellence Program, two employees were recognized for their efforts in enhancing the customer experience in August.

With all that life throws our way, ASP appreciates the efforts made by our Team to attend work on a regular and consistent basis. This summer, a Perfect Attendance Contest ran in July and August.

Efforts made by our team to keep passengers moving were recognized by the GTAA and other stakeholders several times throughout the busy summer months.

In August, we took the opportunity to award Employee of the Month to an Agent that not only keeps our passengers moving but does it with a smile.

With this year’s Summer Operation coming to an end, we want to thank each and every one of the members of our OSR team!

The team faced a wide variety of challenging circumstances and were able to work with their colleagues and airport stakeholders in order to ensure all passengers were provided with a seamless experience.

The hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed! The GTAA has recognized the achievements of the frontline team and commended the excellent performance. We look forward to the season ahead and can’t wait to continue the excellent work in the upcoming months.

We are at once delighted and disheartened to announce that Piro Koco has retired from ASP on September 13, 2018.

Piro worked with ASP for over 14 years as Access Control Officer at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Piro has been a tremendous employee with a perfect attendance for past 10 years.

He plans on spending his time with his family here in Canada and also travelling back home to Albania every year. We all wish Piro the very best and he will be greatly missed by us all!

Payroll Processing Charges

Here at head office, the accounting team has been hard at work in transitioning our accounting and payroll system to Sage 300.  We’re very excited about this change.  With an integrated system connecting both the scheduling and accounting system, we will see fewer errors and increased efficiencies.  This means that there will be a new format for the paystub.  Prior to the conversion, we will be providing a sample paystub to help you understand how to read the new paystub.

To help reduce the number of payroll discrepancies, we encourage you to review your online portal frequently and quickly bring any discrepancies to your supervisor.  Resolving discrepancies after the payroll process is extremely time-consuming.

On Saturday, September 23, 2017, Toronto Pearson facilitated the 10th annual Runway Run, where runway 06R-24L was open to roughly 2300 community members for a 5 km run and a 2 km walk.

The event featured giveaways from generous corporate sponsors, exhibits of emergency vehicles and aircraft, music and family activities. Proceeds support local charities that uplift people and communities.

Prior to the event, on September 21 and 22, ASP and Airfield Access donated three DA drivers with vehicles and one escort for eight hours for vendors and GTAA set-up.

On event day, 12 employees with vehicles were placed around the runway to extend the Primary Security Line (PSL) from 0430-1400. Three guards were posted from 0430-1400 at Airside PSL gate to allow access for the volunteers, participants and the vendors. One supervisor was scheduled from 0430-1430 to supervise the guards and to channel  correspondence between the GTAA and our employees.

ASP managers Garinder Grewal and Noman Butt were also present from 0430-1400 to oversee the operation and to ensure GTAA was satisfied with ASP’s services.

Thanks to our supervisor and employees involved in this event. Our goal to have a safe, secure and enjoyable community event was accomplished!
